Sunday it was to be a million, out of Employment Security Checks. Now ,today, according to AP,its 1.3 million. What to do? Send them to the Co.Social Services again,& tell them to apply for anything they re eligible for,Food Debit cards, basic shelter & utilities, medicaid.
How bout Tarpalins for makeshift tents?Ya make a frame,& or/use a rope to pitch it over for a basic A frame type tent, maybe use a 2nd and a 3rd for each end, stake em down, using nylon twine for hold downs at grommets,a couple sticks for upright tent poles,in the extremes. I believe regular tents are kinda frail for 24/7 living, but to put tarps over,& around them, really makes them more durable. To keep hostiles,& animals out, reinforce with regular fence wire around walls n tie a 2nd 4 ft hi sectin to the 1st 4 ft hi section would really make such,a lot more defencable.2x4 frame with fence nailed to it,would make a door, that could be chained n padlocked, when tied /or hinged to a post set at doorway, for tent cities. I believe the least the govt could do is to set up Alcoa type campgrounds nationwide,& allow Social Services to give folks some to afford even just this bare minimum shelter type situation, like Hoovervilles of the Great Depression, putting in public toilets, showers,& coin vending machines, incl laundrymats. So,write these addresses down to share with anyone that may need them, just to spred the word n do such ministering!A local article in my area read ,the Salvation Army Homeless shelter was building 2x4 frames out back, for rigging tarp shades for the guys to sit under in the daytime. The guys were goimg down n living next to the Railroad tracks, like Hoboes of the Great Depression at the rest of the time, who knows, maybe catching trains out ,too. Years back,I watched a documentary on the homeless. It was staged in FL;this one guy,got a bicycle, was cutting bamboo,n toteing in tied to the side of it,to re inforce his tents,n tarps. He was using plastic garbage cans to catch the rain with tarps,n what came off his roof, putting a 1/2 CUP OF BLEACH IN FOR PURIFICATION.Then ,he was collecting aluminum cans ,selling them for 66 cents a lb to the salvage yard.Day labor at times to the manpower services. I believe it was around Orlando, the documentary was staged. They had some christian out reach workers trying to give them a little medical services, like a free clinic, then there was donations from the thrift stores, too. I had a aunt that died of cancer, bout 6 yrs ago, in Cherokee co apx 15 mi from here thaat worked at a temp employment office, run by the plainclothes there, like a manpower outfit, without the franchise name brand. |

Yes, I agree. It is really sad and speaks very unkindly of America when we consider there are many people who cannot even afford their basic needs.
This is not only a problem with government but it reflects a problem with our society as well. Peace & Love! |

Yeah. Maybe Budog will volunteer to go liberate them all from their corporal existence. Buddhists love to liberate themselves and other people.

So far we have spent more than 700 billion in Iraq, and almost 300 billion in Afghanistan. We bail out banks and businesses that failed (so much for free enterprise).
But we don't have any money to help out our own citizens. |

It was released Monday it maywell be over 2 million.
The political games go on . The Republicans are saying they will win 30 plus Senate seats in November. The Democrats are waiting for a new Senator to br sworn in. But these things don 't help people who need food and to pay bills. But I have to pay my own bills no special benefits for me. |

Just saw an article in the NYTimes that said that the replacement bill has made a hurdle in the Senate so the bill can now go to the full Senate and it is expected to now pass.
This will give the unemployed an extension on their benefits for a little while if approved. We'll see how it goes. Peace & Love! |

Obama will extend the benefits.
The two million whose benefits have run out-- the Senate should be putting through a bill to restore and add more to their tables. It would be much better if it were jobs we were giving them.
