actually, there is a book of ceremonies available that have christo-wiccan,jew-wiccan,budho-wiccan,and various incarnations in the pagan stripe.no i don't know who wrote it or where to get it.a minister i know had one,but i never did find out where he got it from.
to me(connie being the execption),if your going to claim to different religious beliefs at the same time,i would find it difficult to see how to very opposing philosophies can mesh.for example:christo taoist.taoism does not teach of a central diety, and stresses personal responsibilty,so therefore,no concept of "sin",or the need for "outside"forgivness"from a diety.i can understand to a degree christo wiccan,or christo pagen,as there is just one extra diety being added,or one dropped,as is the practiceners choice. however,as a "salad bar buddhist",i guess anything is possible.sometimes we just need to grow up"spiritually"and understand that it can happen. |

More words of wisdom from Lazarus Long:
Sin lies only in hurting other people unnecessarily. All other sins are invented nonsense. (Hurting yourself is not sinful--just stupid.) Courage is the compliment of fear. A man who is fearless cannot be courageous. (He is also a fool.) Don’t try to have the last word. You might get it. |

A Theologian understands that all religions were at one time a single religion, but as migration took place over hundreds of thousands of years and well before true writing came about the stories were told and sung by the elders, shamans, story-weavers, etc.
As man progressed into Hyroglyphics he eventually wanted to make a short-hand version of all these elaborate reliefs on pillars, walls, etc., so they started to event words of the great symbolisms and hyroglyphs. There were many a great trade route. They have found Cocaine in the bodies of Pharoahs and hash in the Central Americas, now Central America never had pot and Egypt never had Cocaine, so many trade routes were going on land and sea far before we actually realized it back 20 years ago ~smiles~ Because of the Migration, Trade and Warfare #### really got intermingled!!! In India the Cow is extremely sacred, as is the elephant. You look in the Norse Religion and the Cow was the creator of all life. It gave birth to the universe and Giants, then man and woman came from the armpit of these giants. The man and woman part was definately a later version of the Norse religion as the Christian Vikings incorporated that into their religion and slaughtered all those who would not convert, but many things in the Viking era of the Norse History is just inundated with Christian Values, even Loki turns into the Devil by the end of the Viking Age. He had a daughter named Hel. He also had an abberation child known as the Midgard Serpent. These things were taken from Christianity to help slowly convert the Norse people over to Christianity. No religion is true except for the original religion, which was the idolization and worship of the uknown...the Sun because it brought warmth, helped crops grow, and showed migratory paths of animals which allowed man to eventually get smarter about hunting and cultivating ~smiles~. We so like to perceive things from a modern western viewpoint, and you really can't do that unless you go live in the wilderness for 3 months with just a bow, axe and knife. When you learn about things like having to wipe your ass with your left hand, you realize why it is an insult to shake a man's hand with your left hand ~smiles~. What we have today is a cluster#### of 2 million years of division, and especially the last 5,000 years when we really started writing and making since of the world.... So to me it's all just a big sham that people who believe themselves higher than us use to control the masses and keep social control. I mean if you get out line you go to jail and hell ~grins~ I buy into none of this crap ~smiles~. My people were written about in the Christian Bible as much as the Norse Sagas are interwoven with India and Asia. In the Christian Myths/Sagas in Genisis it speaks about the Nephilim, which the Norse called the Ymir (Giants), it talks about the serpent in the garden which intermingles with the Midgard Serpent. In just about every popular religion there is a apocolyptic ending to the world. MY friends in India told me the name of theirs, but I don't remember, in the Norse it is Ragnarok, in Christianity it is Revelations and in the Myan it is the Apocolypse, and there are many others ~smiles~. It is like a root system or tree, all religions/spirituality is based upon the perceptions of the perception of others who believe the perceptions of he first party to be absolute, those who didn't branched off found a piece of their own land through migration or war and then made their absolutes in perceptions ~smiles~ We as a modern civilization as a whole are incapable of even understanding the incomprehensible thoughts of man 60,000 years ago, or even 300 years ago. We are but grains of stand in a giant egg time slipping through one by one, building techonlogies and psueodo beliefs to rationalize our existances on the bones of a million dead generations who we could not even comprehend ~smiles~ Well there are exceptions to every rule, but very very few apply here ~chuckles~ DISCLAIMER: (These are knowledges of my mind, experience and learning and does not neccesarly reflect the beliefs of others ~grins~) ~cackles~ ![]() |

You know how I don't like to read other's posts until I have posted. I don't want my original viewpoint to be sullied, altered, etc. Whichever word you can find that doesn't offend you ~smiles~
After reading youz guyzez readins! Very few religions don't have commanalities....for the most part their greatest common denominator is their principles of Love, Kindness, Honor, Good Neighorship, etc., so there really isn't any reason we couldn't get a long. The reason we don't get along is because the division is so great and everyone thinks they have the one way, but every man/woman has to find their own destiny ~smiles~ ![]() |

It's a P.R., money and political thing.
Interestingly enough. While Pagans and Christians have been fighting for centuries, Muslims are now number 25% of the world's population, and I'm guessing that Buddhists comprise an even larger portion of it. (We have the facts posted here somewhere.) By dictionary definition Muslims and Buddhists are Pagans, but I'm guessing that they wouldn't agree. What do all of the groups have in common? They're made up of human beings. |

It shouldn't be. It is the label of superiority that religions/spiritualities put on themselves that causes all this disdain...basically it is "MY GOD IS BETTER THAN YOURS" kind of self-righteous ######## ~grins~.
The truth is all religions came from one and that one God was the SUN, from there one out man learned about social superiority, astrology, etc. If he didn't like what you liked he took those who blieved in what he did and migrated to new lands so they could worship as they wanted too. If you look at the Egyptian Religion and the Christian Religion the similiarties are beffuddling!!! Immaculate Conceptions, Baptisms, Ressurections. The entire 10 commandments that Moses supposeably got from the burning bush (pothead) are the exact same tenents in the Egyptian Book of the Dead ~grins~. Horus was born 3000 years before Christ and was born of an immaculate conception, was a child prodigy at age 12, at age 30 he started his ministry after being baptized. He had 12 disciples. He died and was ressurected 3 days later ~smiles~ Sound familiar?! Krishna, Mithra and many others were born on Dec. 25th of miracle births, had 12 brothers/disciples, had names like the "Lamb of God" "The True Light", etc. Where I live on Dec. 22 the Sun stops moving for 3 days, then it move up and the days start getting longer, while the sun is stopped moving it is under the constellation of the CRUX, which in Latin translate into CROSS, so the SUN/SON died on the cross and was ressurected 3 days later ~smiles~. It's purely astrological, as is most the crazy #### in the Bible ~smiles~. In the Norse Religion (which you know is my fav) the Universe gave birth to a Cow, which is also a very sacred symbol/animal in many cultures, which also relates to Taurus the Bull. This means that the Sun and all the elements gave birth to the Earth/Midgard in the Age of Taurus most likely ~shrugs~. In the Bible in Genisis it speaks of the Sons of God which most Christian Scholars have mistaken for Angels, but they were actually Norsemen. The really crazy part is Genisis also speaks of the Nephlim (giant people), which the Norse also speak about as the Ymir. It was from the armpit of the first giant that man was born. Giant being a element of nature...fires, earth, etc. I agree with you whole heartedly that there is no reason we should not all get along, especially when all our religions generally have the same exact ####ing principles, values and morals...the only they have different is their own self-righteous superiority ~smiles~. If we got rid of all religon and lived by principles we would have a much better world, but that will never happen till around 2125-2150 after we have decimated ourselves with nukes ~smiles~. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Im thinking it is the conantations of the words describing the beliefs that have changed or are misunderstood and! they also label and define laws that disable the religious belief to bound with another, many of the above mentioned practices actually are similar in the views of human society, historical aspects and natural aspects.
We all dance together in the same ceremony yet we all have our colours to show with pride of course, see you all there! Openess is key to overcome this hatred that has plagued our world, when you first see a stranger perhaps you demand to inquier and reject in survival but in this day and age? we should understand or atleast educate ourselves about eah other! Thats why i like it here. Many metaphores, one caravan, i say! ![]() |

Yeah, we should be holding wars over money, or land, or valuable vast resources or something. Religion and spiritual beliefs are just too ethereal and intangible or something. Disagreements should only be over something one can hold in their hand, otherwise, what would someone be name-calling, fighting or struggling to take away from another?

Actually it was dismissed that the Grandmother's choose the candidates. When they wrote our constitution we followed a lot of the Iroquois beliefs and institutions for running their nation..with just one fatal mistake..we didn't respect women's rolls in governing...that is our effing problem! | |
